This is the bay where the ancient sailors feared meeting the terrible sirens. The place must once have been very dangerous for sailors both for the rocks and for the currents created by the nearby Punta Campanella that divides the Gulf of Salerno from that of Naples. The faraglioni of nearby Capri are clearly visible and the sea is splendid. The entire area including the Big Bay and the Small Bay are owned by the FAI (Italian Environment Fund). The beach can be reached either by sea or on foot along a path of about 3.5 km that starts from Nerano.
